Lara is one of those dogs that comes
along only once in a while. She has amassed hundreds of challenge
points in a relatively short career spanning five years and gained
her first challenge certificate when she was only six months of
age. In 1998 at the GSP Club of Western Australia Specialty Show
she was awarded the Brigsy Trophy and won Minor Puppy in Show.
At the National GSP Specialty of 1998 held in
Brisbane she was awarded the highest possible rating for a bitch
of her age by respected British judge, Mme Mineke Mills-De Hooge.
At the next National in 2000 Lara was placed first in a large
Open bitch class and going onto win the Reserve Challenge certificate
under American GSP specialist Ruth Ann Freer.
Lara titled in 1999 and won the Top Show Bitch
trophy of the GSP Club of Western Australia, a trophy that she
won in the two succeding years 2000 and 2001. This latter year
also saw Lara go Best of Breed at the prestigious Pal Western
Classic and the next saw her become the Inaugural GSP bitch invitee
at the Gundog Club of Western Australia's Gundog Gala.
We have kept one of her puppies from her first litter, Dürers Oswolt Krel with one of the others going to Valache Kennels. She recommenced her show career in 2004 and is doing very well, recently awarded Best in Group by Mr Kerley (SA).
At the recent AGM Lara was awarded the GSP Club of WA's Show Bitch of the Year Trophy for 2004.
